Imagination is part of the viewing process

It fascinates me how people see, how much or little imagination is needed to see into an image, Very little information can be enhanced by the individual’s experience history and understanding. Seeing with the imagination is part of the viewing process, even huge amounts of narrative can be added.
I weave colours and images in layers leaving room for the individual‘s experience to fill in the whole picture. To do this many colour glazes are used some lightly, some scumbled over an underdrawing. Because the glazes are filters, what can actually be seen changes according to the light- this is only really noticeable in natural light. Tones can balance and appear the same, receding, joining creating and completing the image.
